Cancer Council Biggest Morning Tea

This year our school will be participating in the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for cancer. We are inviting all parents to a morning tea that will be held in the library on Thursday 24th May at 8.30am. We will be taking gold coin donations. The students will also be able to participate in this worthwhile cause during lunch time with a picnic lunch on the oval. ANZAC Day Assembly

This year our ANZAC Day assembly will be held on Wednesday 2nd May starting at 2pm. We would like to invite all parents and community members to this assembly. CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL - Wednesday 11th April 2018

Our annual Cross Country Carnival will be held on Wednesday 11th April 2018. School Photos- Monday 9th April 2018

School photos will be taken on Monday 9th April. Every student in the school will have their photograph taken on Monday 9th April. All children will be included in their class photo as well as individual photos, which will be used for report cards. We expect every child to be at school in summer uniform on the day. This year's Education Week will be held from Monday 6 August to Friday 10 August 2018 (Term 3, Week 3). The theme for Education Week is ‘Today's schools – creating tomorrow's world'. This theme communicates how NSW public schools are equipping young people with the skills and capabilities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing, globalised world. In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. Healthy School Canteens

Introducing Healthy School Canteens

The introduction of the revised Healthy School Canteen Strategy increases the availability of healthy food and drink options in school canteens to make the healthy choice, the easy choice. It replaces the Fresh Tastes@School Strategy in NSW schools that was commonly known as the traffic light system. The revised strategy is consistent with the 2013 Australian Dietary Guidelines and classifies food and drinks as either Everyday or Occasional. Sugary drinks will continue not to be sold. Applications for student travel 2016

From 2 November 2015, a new online SSTS application process is being introduced for schools within the Opal network, coinciding with the introduction of the School Opal card. Schools outside the Opal network should continue to process the existing blue SSTS application forms and send them to the appropriate transport operators. Most parents, guardians and students won't need to apply for a school travel pass for 2016 if they have already been given a school student travel pass for the current year. 2016 school funding allocations

All NSW public schools are currently being advised of their 2016 Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. RAM distributes funding based on individual needs of students and schools, and gives schools greater flexibility to make financial decisions. The way schools use their RAM funding will vary based on local needs. Some support will be for the entire school, and some will be for particular groups of students or individual students.
